~Inoue Nagi:"On the day when the 5th generation video first release, many people came to my classroom and i spent a restless day.".I also found an Music Video shooting location near my house~
—This year, Inoue Nagi, who was selected from about 88,000 people and joined Nogizaka46. First of all, please tell me how you feel about this shoot.
Nagi:I am very happy. Previously, I overheard from the staff in other shootings, "I want to shoot them in a state where they act naturally/normally, and that is not intentional." I've been wondering how to present myself in a natural way since then, but I feel like my normal self today.

Nagi: I was given this name "和" ,as my parent hope that "i would be a person who can bring a "和" atmosphere". My kikakke to join the kyudo club in my high school was also due to the thought of trying something with my name in it ,"和弓(Wakyu)" .

—When did you first become interested in Nogizaka46?
Nagi: It was during the high school entrance examination 2 years ago. For a while, I got into a "slum" when i was studying, so I started to try to take photos and videos, as well as draw pictures, looking for all kinds of "things I can do by myself/thing that i have interest in". At that time, I happened to see "Nogizaka Under Construction" (TV Tokyo program), and I was gradually attracted. However, at that time, I hadn't thought about joining Nogizaka46, as i thought "it is not poosible for such a cute girl to be real"
—So, what was your kikakke for participating in the audition?
Nagi:At the end of my 1st year in high school, although I didn't go to an "Nogizaka Sacred Place" on purpose, I accidentally discovered the place where Nogizaka46 filmed an MV was actually near my home. With that feeling and thinking that "It's actually right here", I started to have the idea to challenge myself. So I participated in the audition that summer. The idea of "Doing whatever I want to do after my high school entrance exam was over" also plays a big role.
- Did you try to challenge yourself in another area?
Nagi:When I started attending art school, I challenged cheerleading at the sports festival (laughs). Because I have tried almost all the things I am interested in, and that I am getting too busy,i have only attempt a little cheerleading.However, I still feel that it is a very correct decision to let go and just try out new things/stuff.
- When the 5th Generation promotional video were released one by one on YouTube, how did the people around you react?
Nagi:My promotional video was posted during the daytime on a weekday, many students from other classes and grades kept coming to my class during their lunch break after watching the video.... (wry smile)
- I'm sure that led to the impression of "Eh? Isn't this a student from our school?"
Nagi:It's really embarrassing, I felt like hiding during that day(laughs). On the way home, I suddenly heard "Ganbatte!" and cheers. I felt really quite restless that day
—What is your goal in Nogizaka46?
Nagi:I want to be like my seniors and do my best at all times, and also be very considerate of other members. At the 10th Birthday Live (Nissan Stadium) held in May, I had the honor to give the opening greeting. In fact, before the official performance, Umezawa (Minami) senpai came over to me in the backstage and said, "Although it is inevitable to be nervous, just don't show it." .She encouraged me with a smile saying, "Nagi chan ,Zettai Daijyoubu".
—Umezawa is a senior who indeed can sense the nervousness of juniors and is considerate.
Nagi:Yes. I was very happy at the time, and I kept saying "It's great, it's great!" in the Live, and also my mind went blank (laughs).
—Sounds like you joined a group that has a "和" atmosphere. By the way, I heard that you like animation and manga. What are your favorite works?
Nagi:"EVA", "Gundam", "Code Geass" and so on... Well, I especially like works with "Mecha" elements.To me,the scale of an mecha is really large and cool, and also as the anime/manga is not a direct "person-to-person" ,it is usually not so heart-wrenching but the plot are usually very catchy.
— I see (laughs). Would you ever like to try riding in the cockpit yourself?
Nagi: I would be fine if I just sat down in a cockpit without fighting.... However, i would probably resist piloting an EVA because of the need for neural connections (laughs).
