[Post 1377] The American Dream They Chased Isn’t The One They Found | Walk The Line: ICE Nation - Part 1/2

Summary

Two years after following Chinese migrants on their way to the US, Wei Du returns to ask a simple question: what became of the American dream they risked everything for? In Jacumba, the migrant route that once teemed with people is now almost empty. In Los Angeles, families from the original journey are trying to build fragile new lives. And in Minneapolis, Wei arrives just as immigration raids and anti-ICE protests push the city to the brink. As she reconnects with those she filmed two years ago, and witnesses a country turning on itself over migration, it becomes a story not just about the recent arrivals, but about what kind of country America wants to be.
