[Post 1582] Trapped Above 9/11 Impact Zone: The Untold Story Of 73 Restaurant Workers | Windows On The World

Summary

Twenty-five years after 9/11, this gripping documentary tells the untold story of the 170 people trapped inside Windows on the World, the iconic restaurant on the top floors of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.

Through never-before-seen family archives, emergency calls and emotional interviews with survivors, the film follows the final hour of those stranded above the impact zone with no means of escape.

At the heart of the story is Jupiter Yambem, an Indian immigrant and banquet manager at the restaurant. Just a week earlier, he had switched to the morning shift so he could spend more time with his young son, a decision that placed him at work on that fateful day.

From the streets of Manhattan to the Loktak Lake of Manipur, India, the film traces the unknown devastation of 9/11 across continents, forever changing families, communities and lives thousands of miles away.
