(Nogi 11)English Translation of Ikeda Teresa ANN portion (25/05/2022)

Teresa: I come from Tokyo prefecture, born in the 14th year of Heisei Era(2002), 20 years old, Ikeda Teresa desu!

Teresa is made up of two kanji, on the left side 瑛 is the kanji for eigo (English), on the right side 紗 is similar to sukunai (scarce or insufficient),and together they are read as Teresa

Kubo: There we have it ,Ikeda Teresa chan and Nakanishi Aruno chan. They both have fantastic names. Teresa and Aruno have such unique names. Teresa, Aruno, and Shiori have such Japanese (wa 和)  vibes to it, although Shiori doesn't have much Japanese (wa 和) vibes to it (laugh).But when you put Shiori name with Teresa and Aruno together ,it kinda give off a Japanese feel. Its not just the name, both Teresa and Aruno seems to give off a sparkling vibes. So for the two of them, we will start with Ikeda Teresa first, and ask her what are her memories regarding the audition

Memories of her audition

Teresa: Before the audition began, I heard Matsumura Sayuri mention in a program that while repeating a school year, she came across the advertisement for Nogizaka46's first audition and applied for it. When the announcement for Nogizaka46 5th gen was made, I was in my senior year of high school and was repeating a school year. My friend encouraged me to try out and apply for the audition, so I did. When I passed the audition, it didn't feel real, and I was uneasy. Also, I only informed my mother a week after I passed the audition, and she didn't seem to grasp what I was saying, but she did ask whether I could manage this sort of lifestyle. Right now, she is supporting me

Kubo: Eh!, she didn't notify her parents about her passing the audition until a week later. Sugoii! When I saw the first generation audition video, I noticed that the first generation members quickly phoned their parents to inform them that they had passed the audition. It was hard to maintain a secret for the third generation since it was a live stream. I mean, your life has suddenly transformed; if it were me, I would definitely contact my parents first thing. In my heart, I was happy that I passed thinking what should I do? I feel like my parent was about to cry . For keeping it secret, it was pretty sugoii of her. That is indeed a very special audition memory. Next ,we will ask what are some thing that Teresa likes.

Things that Teresa likes

Teresa: I love drawing ,reading manga and watching anime. My recommendation is an manga call "Beastar". Lately, I've recently become obsessed to reading it,  in which animal are the main characters set in a fantasy world, but the setting is really detailed and makes it feel realistic.. I heard that Kubo-Senpai loved movie.  If Kubo has seen the movie "Zootopia," ,please do give a try and read Beastar manga. If you enjoy Zootopia, I am sure you will enjoy Beastar as well.

(Author Note: I haven't watched or read Beastar yet but I have probably listened to Yoasobi "Kaibutsu" at least a hundred times by now😂)

Kubo: Eh! This is the first time I am hearing Beastar. I've seen Zootopia before, but Teresa may not be aware that I am the type of person who does not watch/try things that have been recommended to me(laugh). But, because it's a topic for bridging the gap with kouhai (younger members), I'll try to learn more about it. Someday, someday, I'll see it, so could you just wait for me? It's difficult to say how many years later, but eventually I'll watch Beastar. Ah ,I would like to take the opportunity to recommend her Haikyuu. Not sure who will watch first, although Haikyuu may be a little long.

So Teresa chan, please do watch Haikyuu. Ah maybe she has already watch Haikyuu. Please let me know if you are watching Haikyuu. We'll see who watch Haikyuu or Beastar first. Question to ask Kubo

Teresa: Last time when we were shooting with Kubo senpai ,Kubo MC was very good. Right now, I am currently the oldest in 5th generation, however I have had problems performing well in variety, therefore I am wondering what is required in variety to do well?, which is what I wanted to ask.

Kubo: Ah, I see.  Teresa Chan, do you know the variety program "love it"? I was a season regular for three months  and didn't really perform well, which is what it is(laugh). I did my best, but I don't think I did well, therefore I don't have much advice. But then, I'm glad you asked me this question. For the time being, just do your best. I'm sure your fans will be overjoyed when they see you giving it your all. Just try your best with a positive attitude, and I think you'll be OK. Even if this is coming from someone who didn't do well on love it, I'll be delighted if you take my advice and write it down somewhere. We will have more live and performance in the future together, so let's work hard together.
