-Your shodo words are excellent.
Mao:Thank you very much.From the first year of elementary school to the first year of middle school, I practiced shodo.I also chose shodo as one of my subjects and trained for about ten years, reaching the 5th Dan level.
-What is your motivation for applying to the Nogizaka audition?
Mao: Initially, I had little interest in the entertainment industry. I had never been to an audition before. Up until middle school, I was always busy with extracurricular activities and cram school/tuition. After high school, I attended club activities once a week and spent most of my time sleeping during the holidays. When I was going through such a mundane life, my brother, who is a Nogizaka46 fan, recommended I apply for the audition. I applied for the audition with the expectation of failing. However, a letter indicating that I had passed the first round of auditions arrived, and it was only then that I informed my parents about my application to the audition for the first time.
(Author's note: If my memory serves me correctly, Kakehashi also applied for nogizaka due to her brother's influence.
-I'm sure your family is surprised as well.
Mao: My brother, a Nogizaka fan, exclaims, "I can't believe Mao got into the same group as my oshi" (Mao laugh).After I passed my audition, my father began researching Nogizaka46 and has since become obsessed with Nogizaka as well (Mao laugh)
-Is there anything else you want to do in Nogizaka in the future?
Mao: I'm interested in fashion design and would like to try my hand at making clothes. The Nogizaka costume/uniform is amazing. For example, the kikake uniform has a variety of patterns on it. Originally, I wanted to be a designer, so I have a lot of interest in these areas, and I also look forward to wearing cute clothes. Although I enjoy fashion and clothing, I also adore kitchenware and flowers, which I frequently search for on the internet. Although Kobe has many cute shops, I have already visited all of them, so I would like to explore the shops in Tokyo. In my spare time, I enjoyed playing the guitar.In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar; as long as there is a music sheet, I can play the guitar.My first kikkakke for playing guitar was with the guitar that my brother had brought with him. Because of my brother, I believe my life has changed dramatically (Mao laugh)
