As October has finally begin,we are down to the last season of Jdrama 2022.After reviewing Jdrama WordPress, i thought i could create an post to identify some interesting potential dramas to watch in the fall of 2022.
1.Maiagare (舞いあがれ! ; Soar High!)

Lead:Fukuhara Haruka
Iwakura Mai(Fukuhara Haruka) grows up with her father, mother, elder brother, and the family runs a small factory in Higashiosaka. One day, Mai visits her grandmother, Shoko at the Goto Islands, located in Nagasaki Prefecture.
The Goto Islands are surrounded with nature and Mai sees a kite flying strongly in the wide sky. After seeing that scene, Mai decides to become a pilot and fly high in the sky(Source:Mydramalist).
First off,the brand new Asadora.Looking forward to watch an "Aeroplane" genre and for Fukuhara Haruka's , as the girl has come a long way from her roles in cliche dramas like Coffee and Vanilla. Plus, as a Sakamichi fan, I'll be watching it for Yamashita Mizuki, who will play the female lead's childhood friend.
2.First Penguin(ファーストペンギン！)

The "first penguin" is the courageous first penguin that dives into the sea filled with enemies. Iwasaki Nodoka(Nao) is a young single mother with no money, no house, and no work. While Nodoka decides that she will do anything to eat, she meets a fisherman who offers her "10,000 yen to rebuild the coast".
Thus, Nodoka now carries the dreams of the local fishermen whose lives are on her shoulders. Despite her limited knowledge of the fishing industry, Nodoka does her best working with the stubborn sea men, breaks through the old common sense and customs with her boldness, and creates a revolution in the industry(Source:Mydramalist).
This is one of the dramas this season that has piqued my interest due to the plot and cast. Personally, I believe that the "revitalizing" theme hasn't been used much in Jdrama outside of Hotel or Restaurant, so I'm really looking forward to this drama.
Has previously enjoyed Nao's performance in Anata No Ban Desu and Tsutsumi Shinichi's performance in My wife becomes an elementary school student, which is my favorite drama so far this year. Definitely one of drama that i am really looking foward to this season's.
3.Hitotsubashi Kiriko no Hanzai Nikki(一橋桐子の犯罪日記; Hitotsubashi Kiriko's Crime Diary)

Hitotsubashi Kiriko (Matsuzaka Keiko) is on the verge of misery. It has not been easy living on her pension and working part-time but the death of a close friend who was her only hope, suddenly made daily life feel empty. At this rate, she will end up dying alone.
As the difficulty of carrying on living wrenches Kiriko’s heart, she is captivated by the remarks of someone she saw on TV. “I wanted to go to jail so that things would be easier,” said a person who was arrested. Kiriko sets prison as her “final residence” and begins her search for a way to get arrested without causing trouble to people(Source:Mydramalist).
I'm not familiar with Matsuzaka Keiko's work, but according to Wikipedia, she's a veteran actress. I'm intrigued by the plot of someone wishing to intentionally end up in jail. From the trailer ,it seem that it may be a potential good comedy
4.Atom No Ko(アトムの童; The child of Atom)
However, the story begins when "Atom", a long-established toy manufacturer that is on the verge of going out of business, begins to search for him in order to rebuild its business(Source:Mydramalist).
The theme of game development is not new, but I believe it is rarely used in primetime Jdrama, so I am eager to see how the plot unfolds.
Aside from the highly anticipated First Love Drama, which will air on Netflix, I believe this will have a high rating for this season simply because of Yamaken.
5.Reibai Tantei Jozuka Hisui(霊媒探偵・城塚翡翠;Medium Detective Hisui Jozuka )

Green-eyed Jozuka Hisui (Kiyohara Kaya) is clairvoyant and leads a lonely life due to her special ability. She is able to identify criminals through hints from the dead but she cannot get anyone to believe her because she has no evidence.
This makes Hisui agonise over why she is so useless even though she can discover the truth. How will she mobilise the police and capture the criminals?(Source:Mydramalist).
Generally,I tend to avoid mystery drama as they are almost the same ol same ol and it's one of the most commonly JDrama theme along with Police ,Doctor and Romantic Comedy .
But,I am definitely checking this out because of Kaya chan and that it is also adapted from a popular novel.So i have an mid to high expectation for this drama.
6.Yamikin Ushijima-kun Gaiden: Yamikin Saihara-san(闇金サイハラさん)

Appeared in the movie version of Yamikin Ushijima-kun, Saihara Akane is an illegal loan shark who is taken advantage of by the yakuza gangsters, that always make unreasonable demands and try to make her life in the underworld difficult.(Source:Mydramalist).
The Yamikin Ushijima-Kun series is one of my favorites series. The Loan Shark genre is not commonly used in Jdrama, and I am a sucker for unconventional themes, so I have high expectations for this series as well. Personally, I believe that this will be the most popular after-midnight drama for the fall of 2022.
7.Kurosagi (クロサギ; The Black Swindler)

Kurosaki Koshiro(Hirano Sho) is a young man who lost his family due to fraud. He decides to devote his life to take revenge against the fraudsters and become a con artist under the name "Kurosagi".(Source:Mydramalist).
A remake of Yamashita's original "Kurosagi" drama. As usual, a Johnny's drama per season. Because of Hirano's popularity, this could potentially be one of the more popular Jdramas this season.
Personally, I like the Fraud theme for drama, despite the fact that it has already been used in Jdrama several times, most notably by Confidence Man JP.I've never seen the original version, so I'm really looking forward to watching this one.
8.Oshi ga Budokan Ittekuretara Shinu ( 推しが武道館いってくれたら死ぬ;If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die)

Eripiyo(Matsumura Sayuri) is an enthusiastic idol otaku who devotes her everything to Ichii Maina, a member of local Okayama underground idol group, ChamJam. Eripiyo spends most of her income on Maina, thinks about her 24/7, and does her best in screaming Maina's name. These actions slowly make Eripiyo known as "the legendary fan".
Unlike Eripiyo, Maina is shy and reserved. Although Maina knows how much Eripiyo supports her, she is too nervous which makes the relationship between the two weird despite them caring for each other. "If Maina could stand on the Budokan stage one day... I'd die for it!" This is the story of Eripiyo and her fellow otaku friends and their dedicated activities for ChamJam(Source:Mydramalist).
